Blue Ocean Resort and Spa, Ganpatipule, Maharashtra, India

One of the best options in Ganpatipule, if you want to stay right on the beach! Though around 5 kms away from the temple, this resorts offers nice, clean and kind of a private beach. We booked sea view villa, which was on the beach side of the property. At first, we were excited to see lush green gardens and sea.

However, it didn't last long and we saw huge construction activity as we approached our villa. The passage was almost blocked with the iron rods and other construction material.

The room had promised sea view.

In the room, the wardrobe had only one sliding door. The half open wardrobe not only looked odd but also took a lot of air conditioning. Then there was a problem with the door. It was just not locking. We had to leave for temple without locking the room. Later also the staff couldn't rectify the problem. It took a lot of our precious time. Since this side of property was secluded, we requested the staff to fix a latch on the door (and forget about the automatic locking) so that we could atleast sleep peacefully. The bathroom required cleaning. Overall, we didn't find the room/villa worth the price.

The beach was good and flat. we didn't mind the black sand as long as it was firm. My daughter had a great time venturing into the sea. There were showers in the garden to clean the sand.

The hotel has two restaurants. We wanted to have dinner on the sea side restaurant (called Tide) but the staff refused to take the responsibility to serve hot food as it is to be cooked on the other side of the road. Thus, we decided to go to the other restaurant.

The other side of the property (away from beach) was well maintained. The food was good and the staff took great care to serve us the food of our choice. Since we stayed for only one night, we couldn't use the beautiful pool.

Free wifi was available at the reception lobby.

One more thing, if you are booking online please check what was quoted and what is offered because there might be discrepancies! It is always better to get it sorted before you reach the property, like we did!
